Mick Fanning & Coco Ho crowned 2009 Rip Curl Pro Search Champions

The Rip Curl Pro Search experience was the most exciting event on this year's ASP World Tour.

Portugal turned it on for the world's best male and female surfers - taking us here, there and everywhere along the prestine coastline of Peniche in the name of the Search...

The waves were epic, the crowds were crazy, the surfing was awesome and the Search scored. Big time.

Australian Mick Fanning took out the Men's event, man-handling a mixed bag of conditions on his way to defeating Bede Durbidge at Supertubos. The win was Mick's third ASP World Tour win this year and his second Rip Curl Pro Search title.

Fun-loving teenager Coco Ho has enjoyed a successful first year on the ASP Women's World Tour and proved she's a main stage star by winning her first World Tour event here in Peniche. The pint-sized Hawaiian was a standout all event and eventually defeated former world champ Chelsea Hedges in the final.

We want to send out a huge thanks to the city of Peniche, the people of Portugal, all the ASP surfers, all the staff that worked on the event, all the media that covered it, everyone that watched online and last, but not least, Huey for the waves...

We also wish all the surfers the best of luck and waves in Hawaii. Good luck to Mick going for his second ASP World Title and Steph Gilmore going for her third!
