About Rip Curl Pro Puerto Rico 2013

In 2010, the world's best congregated on the shores of Puerto Rico for the first time to compete in the Rip Curl Pro Search. Over 2 years later, we are picking up where we left off. Introducing the 2013 Rip Curl Pro Puerto Rico 4-star rated ASP event. From February 9-13, Puerto Rico will play host to another marquee ASP event at Jobo's Beach in Aguadilla. This time, the competitor field will be open to 144 surfers, but in essence we expect some things to be the same: great waves, passionate crowds, and world-class surfers. The event will be brought to the world through the live webcast at live.ripcurl.com.

Dillon Perillo

The 2010 Rip Curl Pro Search wildcard, Dillon Perillo, will be coming back to Puerto Rico with intentions of giving this year a good qualifying run. Now established as one of the premiere freesurfers in the world, having starring roles in films Dear Suburbia, and Lost Atlas, Perillo is setting his sites on competitive success. With a silky smooth forehand carve and an arsenal of progressive maneuvers, look for Perillo to draw from his "big league" wildcard experience and to make a serious run towards the Rip Curl Pro Puerto Rico title.

Taylor Knox

Having spent the last 22 years as a permanent fixture on the ASP World Championship Tour, no fan of surfing is unfamiliar with Taylor Knox. Arguably the greatest power surfer of all-time, Taylor is confirmed to compete in the 2013 Rip Curl Pro Puerto Rico. With a timeless forehand arc, the pressures of ASP WCT qualification off his back, look for Taylor to show that he still has some fuel left in the tank for when he chooses to use it. "I am thrilled about coming back to Puerto Rico!" Taylor stated recently. We're thrilled he's coming back too.
