Jack Perry emerged victorious in the Rip Curl Pro Trials at Bells Beach on Tuesday. Perry bested Victoria’s highest rated Pro Junior surfer, Harry Mann, in the final, held in near-perfect two-foot waves at Rincon.
By winning the Trials, Perry, of Jan Juc, has earned himself a wildcard into the main event of the Rip Curl Pro presented by Ford at Bells Beach, and will now face defending ASP world champion Joel Parkinson and Brett Simpson in his Round 1 heat.
After coming runner-up in the Trials in previous years, Perry said he was ecstatic to get a long-awaited wildcard.
Perry could be in the water as early as Wednesday morning, the start of the Rip Curl Pro event waiting period, which runs from Wednesday, March 27 to Sunday, April
