How to get to Bells Beach

Bells Beach is a world renowned surf beach located 100 km south-west of Melbourne near Torquay, a coastal locality of Victoria, Australia.

By Bus..

Free Shuttle Bus to Bells

Thanks to Team Up, the Rip Curl Pro has a free shuttle bus that runs at convenient locations between Torquay, Jan Juc and Bells Beach. The Torquay Rip Curl Pro shuttle will depart on the half hour every hour from the Rip Curl Torquay retail store, Torquay from 9.30am – 5.30pm from Friday 29th March to Monday 1st April.


From Geelong

An additional bus will also run this year from the Geelong Train Station to Bells Beach from Friday 29th March to Monday 1st April. Buses will depart from Bay 1 at the Geelong Train Station;

By Foot...

From Jan Juc

Distance: 4km (1hour)

  1. This trail begins at the Jan Juc beach car park. The three-tiered car park can be reached by proceeding through Torquay towards Anglesea on the Great Ocean Road and turning left into Hoylake Avenue (past the Torquay Golf Club).

  2. Turn left at the roundabout into Caravan Avenue and proceed to the western end (top) of the car park.

  3. Follow a spectacular cliff top track that overlooks Jan Juc surf beach, a great way to start your trek with beautiful views and fresh salty air.

  4. As the track continues through rough coastal hinterland, head towards a white wave marker, the entrance to Bells Beach Reserve.

By Car...

From Melbourne

  1. Leave Melbourne heading west on the West Gate Freeway (M1).

  2. Continue west on the Princes Freeway (M1) when the West Gate Freeway splits.

  3. Continue along the Geelong Ring Road.

  4. Take the Angelsea Road (C134) exit at the roundabout. Stay on Anglesea Road for approx 14kms

  5. This road will join onto the Great Ocean Road (B100) at a round about. Take the first exit (turn left) onto Great Ocean Road.

  6. Turn right onto Bells Boulevard.

  7. Turn left onto Bones Road (at a tee-intersection) and follow the signs to the carpark.

  8. Please make a $2 donation to the Jan Juc Cricket Club, park your car and watch the Rip Curl Pro!

From Geelong

  1. Head south on the Princes Highway (M1).

  2. Exit south onto the Surf Coast Highway (B100). This will become the Great Ocean Road (B100).

  3. Turn left onto Bells Boulevard (C132).

  4. Turn left onto Bones Road. This will become Bells Beach Road (C132).

  5. Please make a $2 donation to the Jan Juc Cricket Club, park your car and watch the Rip Curl Pro!
