French surfer Pauline Ado will enter the Women's Rip Curl Pro Search as a Wildcard this October. Ado has had some amazing success as a junior on the European and International circuit, so is definitely one to watch in this event and over the next few years.
When she started out, it wasn’t with the sole intention of competing. No, this young surfer was just in it to have fun. Then, at the age of 10, she came second in a competition and since then there has been no stopping her!
Pauline Ado has come a long way since then and is now part of Europe’s surfing elite. In 2006, aged 15, she became the world’s first European World Junior Champion, thereby giving France its very first world title in this discipline.
With this title under her belt, the young prodigy nevertheless kept her feet firmly on the ground as she continued both surfing and academic studies. She decided to study for the scientific baccalaureate examinations through distance learning and travel to the four corners of the earth for the Qualifying Circuit.
Passing her exams with flying colours, Ado was then able to put all her efforts into her surfing career and achieving her dream of qualifying for the ASP Women’s World Tour as soon as possible.
