The 16 local trialists include 11 local surfers from Bali's famed Bukit Peninsula, home to the epic barrel-machine of Padang Padang, as well as five local surfers from the greater Bali area. Following is the full list of trialists:
4) Agus Dag Dag
5) Koko Mitsua
10) Agus Flet
12) Tipi Jabrik
13) Putra Hermawan
14) Darmaputra Tonjo
15) Dedi Gun

“The Bukit Boys look forward to surfing in the trials all year,” said Uluwatu surfing legend Made Lana, who won the trials last year and this year already holds a spot in the main event. “I know they've all been training hard and are hoping to make it into the main event. It's the dream for all of them.”
The two winners from the local trials will join 30 of the world's best tube riders for the opening ceremony for the 2013 Rip Curl Cup on Sunday, June 30th. The opening ceremony will be held at Padang Padang beach and signals the start of the six-week event waiting period. Rip Curl has extended the contest waiting period to an unprecedented six weeks, beginning July 1st and running through August 15th, to ensure catching a contest-worthy swell.
Among the 16 international surfers confirmed to compete in 2013 are defending champion Chris Ward (USA), Mark Occhilupo (Australia), Jamie O'Brien (Hawaii), Ry Craike (Australia), Kekoa Bacalso (Hawaii) and Bruno Santos (Brazil). Indonesia will be represented by two-time Rip Curl Cup champions Made “Bol” Adi Putra and Lee Wilson, Rizal Tanjung, Marlon Gerber, Garut Widiarta, and Dede Suryana, among others. There will also be a strong contingent of some of the world's top grom surfers competing for Padang Cup glory, including ISA World Junior Surfing U-16 champion Jacob Willcox (Australia), Jack Robinson (Australia), and Luke Hynd.
The complete list of 32 invitees will be released just prior to the June 30th Opening Ceremony.
